Jayne is my outpatient nurse and surgical assistant - a very important member of my team.

In the outpatient department, Jayne is present for most consultations and chaperones all examinations. She may remove sutures and carry out dressings.

In the minor operations theatre, Jayne is my scrub nurse. In the main operating theatre, Jayne is my surgical assistant for all the operations I perform. She accompanies me for the preoperative visit and may review patients after their operation.

Patients are often more comfortable talking to Jayne about the non-medical aspects of their hospital visit.
